Professional Summary
J.D. Candidate, Dokes
I am a J.D. Candidate at Chapman University Fowler School of Law, building on more than two decades of leadership in education, business, military service, and organizational strategy. My path to law school has been shaped by experience, reflection, and a clear sense of responsibility. Every chapter of my life has strengthened the way I understand people, systems, and the impact that disciplined thinking can have on real outcomes.
I have always been drawn to the law. Over time I realized that the work I value most involves clarity, structure, and advocacy. My background as a professor, a veteran, and a business leader taught me how to communicate under pressure, how to guide others through complex decisions, and how to operate with integrity when the stakes are high. Law school is a natural extension of that work. It is not a departure from my past. It is the next step in a long commitment to service and leadership.
I am especially interested in the areas where business, policy, and institutional decision making intersect. My training in organizational management gives me a strong foundation for understanding how rules and incentives shape behavior. I am drawn to legal work that requires strategic thinking, careful communication, and a steady presence. These are skills I have developed through years of teaching, mentoring, and leading teams in high pressure environments.
At this stage of my life I value purpose, substance, and relationships that are built on trust. I am entering the legal profession with gratitude and a clear sense of direction. My goal is to become the kind of lawyer whose work is defined by preparation, character, and a genuine commitment to the people I serve.
